Refreshing Your Place Of Business
Unless you’ve buried yourself under a rock, you can’t fail to notice that we’ve moved into another new year and with a new year comes new resolutions, or at Paint Club we like to say a refresh!
The pandemic meant a huge shift to working from home and while the pandemic is (hopefully) over, the new “normal” way of work is for a
For example, a retail store has to have people on-site! Factories, while they might rely on some automation, must have people in schools, hospitals, medical centres and others won’t be able to offer extensive work-from-home options.
Even if your place of work has many employees working from home for 50% of the week, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t consider a refresh.
To accommodate the new “normal”, you could factor in hot desking, areas for more Zoom or Teams’ meetings and facilities perhaps to encourage people to spend more time at the office and less time working in their lounge!
Just a few, nice refreshing elements can make all the difference. Here are some ideas from Paint Club:
Paint the Walls
Select pale colours, like creams, pale greys, off-whites etc. to brighten up a dark office. For small, private offices you might want to be a little more daring and select warm colours like mulberry, chocolate browns to complement rich looking furnishings or deep navy blues which give an infinitely smart appearance
Attend to Customer Areas
Apart from refreshing the walls, woodwork and ceilings, consider adding some generous sized plants, modern but functional coffee tables with magazines or company literature and of course, nothing can beat a comfortable sofa while clients are waiting!
Company Colours
For example, if your livery is purple, add it as an accent colour so that your office is instantly recognisable.
You can align your new office interior closely to your business, and its values too.
Update Your Tech
Make sure your office is ready for the new year and what it has to bring by getting rid of tired tech and replacing it with the latest, greatest innovation. Not only will your office be ready for a new year but ready for the future too!
Pay Attention to Floors
However, if your floor is still in good condition, you might want to park this for a while and we’ll ensure that it’s properly covered to avoid damage but if you’re planning a refresh, you might want to choose a brand-new floor cover to co-ordinate with your walls.
A durable carpet will suffice but if you have a larger budget, consider a wood-look floor that helps with sound-proofing and is easy to maintain.
Accessories
Add live plants in generous pots for good Feng Shui and give your office a more homely feel – especially as the pandemic meant so many people became used to working from home!
An attractive rug in a large meeting room, a few simple, sleek ornaments, such as a Globe, or smart wall-clocks (rather than the plastic kind) – even some floor to ceiling bookshelves. All of these make the work environment a more pleasant place to be.
