How To Prepare For Painter Team
At Paint Club, we pride ourselves on always going the extra mile to assist our clients. We will always help you to move away furniture and we will also cover anything left in the room (or rooms).
Additionally, we will go to extreme lengths to protect flooring, covering it entirely and securing it so it stays out of harm’s way for the duration of your paint project.
Furthermore, once we’ve finished, we will uncover the floor and your furniture (if it’s been left in the room but even if it’s out of the room, we’ll help you move it back).
However, we appreciate your help too – so do read on to find out how to prepare your home or place of work for professional painting services.
Choose Your Paints In Advance of the Start Date
First things first, before even preparing the working area, it’s wise to know the colours you want to use because if your painting team arrive on day one and you don’t know what colours you want, then your project will face a delay.
So, be ready with your colour choice and tell us in advance so we can organise all the materials for you.
Bear in mind that as respected Toronto house painters, we have accounts with all the major paint brands in Canada (such as Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams), so we get a trade discount – saving you money!
Clear Your Space As Much As Possible
If we’re going into a house or office that’s just undergone renovations, then there likely won’t be much furniture to move but there might be builders’ tools and other items lying around.
It’s best to have your rooms as empty as possible so there’s room for our painters to manoeuvre and there’s less chance of damage to precious furniture or other items.
Obviously, you might have large, heavy pieces of furniture so if you can’t move those, we will move them for you or cover them to protect them.
For wardrobes and drawers, we’d suggest emptying them so they’re easy to move and this stops dust getting inside too. If you can, take curtains and blinds down (we can help) and remove pictures and mirrors from the walls.
Take rugs and mats out of your rooms too, store them away until your paint project is complete.
Clear Offices
We understand that painting offices and places of work presents more upheaval than painting a house, but the good news is that at Paint Club, we do commercial painting Toronto as well – and we are extremely flexible.
We know that you need minimum downtime because every hour lost is money lost. So, why not talk to us about working out-of-hours? We can even work over the weekends, so you don’t have to completely reorganise your office.
That way, you can keep working although it’s still a good idea to remove as much as you possibly can.
If you have another area at work that you could temporarily move into, that will help but we know that’s not always possible.
Rest assured though that we will always cover anything that isn’t moveable and protect floors. As with residential painting, we’d suggest removing as much as you possibly can, including rugs, curtains, blinds, pictures, mirrors and ornaments.
Remember, that as commercial painting specialists in Toronto, we know how to paint an office without causing too much interference.
If You Can – Start With a Clean Space
While it’s not absolutely essential, it does help if the space is relatively clean. As we are quality painters in Toronto, we will always prepare the space first and clean it up too – but the more you do, the more time we have to really focus on your project.
Don’t worry though if you can’t clean up – we’ll still get onto it!
Final Words on Preparing Your Home or Office for Painting
So, we will check all your walls and woodwork to make sure everything is smooth and ready for painting; filling, sanding and smoothing areas so you don’t need to think about them.
With Paint Club, you always get a high quality, professional result – if you need a hand moving furniture or large items, taking down curtains and blinds or anything else, rest assured, our team are ready to assist you with anything!
